Welcome to Rotary Club Borgloon Haspengouw
Rotary is a global organization of dedicated individuals who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in business and professional life, and work to build goodwill and peace in the world.
Worldwide, more than 1.2 million Rotarians are active in over 200 countries and regions.
The main objective of a Rotary club is service: within the local community, in the workplace, and at national as well as international level. Rotarians develop projects that serve the community and focus on some of the most critical issues of our time, such as children’s health (the worldwide eradication of polio is one of our major goals), poverty, hunger, environmental protection, illiteracy and violence.
The permanent Rotary motto is “Service Above Self”.
Rotary Club Borgloon Haspengouw, founded in 2002 and officially chartered in 2003, is a young, dynamic and forward-looking club. We actively organize projects to raise funds and support social causes, mainly within our own community. Among others, we have supported organizations and institutions such as Intesa, Wiric, Tevona, Ter Heide, De Dageraad and ’t Vincentje.
In addition, Rotary Club Borgloon Haspengouw places a strong emphasis on friendship and strengthening the bonds between members. From this spirit of friendship, and with both feet firmly in the world, our club gives concrete expression to the ideal of “Act to Serve”.
